xfdesktop feature freeze

I have a reasonably fast machine (Athlon64 3200+, but no working
driver for my video card makes X somewhat slower), so I can do some
memory leak testing with valgrind. Running xfdesktop under valgrind
slows the desktop down a lot, but not too much to make work
impossible.

I'll make a list of things to test and will post it once its done
(shouldn't take too long).
