Xfce preferred applications framework

Hello everybody,

As some of you already know, I've been working on a "Xfce preferred
applications framework" for some time (it's based on the preferred
applications module found in Terminal), and it's now ready to commit.
I'd like to give people a chance to comment on it first.

Please add your comments/suggestions/whatever to the bugreport. If
nobody complains this will be committed during the week.
