I heard you, I finally went the easy way and just picked up the clearlooks
color for INSENSITIVE in gtkrc. Clearlooks is known to be very easy on the
eye. The result is cool:

I also change the titlebar color, I use the negative of one of the orange
used in the theme. It's a kind of dark violet/blue and it fits well with
orange.
