ah, desktop icons

Brian,

Thanks for awesome work with desktop icons!

But, there's a sort of request I'd like to introduce, feel free to
ignore it, if you like. First, a bit of history...

When I first tried Xfce, the only thing I thought was missing was the
desktop icons I was so used to at that time. After a while though, as
you probably guess, I adapted to the situation and realized that desktop
icons are rather useless after all.

When xfdesktop introduced icons for minimized apps, I was thrilled!
Something completely new (for me) and my workflow assumed to them
quickly, and they're currently my preferred use of desktop icons. I've
also grown to take advantage of the mouse-wheel-on-desktop workspace
change feature, as it makes workflow quite smooth (use keyboard shortcut
when hands are on keyboard, mouse wheel when on mouse).

The addition of "launcher" desktop icons[1] however, introduced a slight
nuisance to the way I work. It appears that, even with no desktop icons,
the desktop seems to receive the keyboard focus. This way, when I change
workspace with the mouse wheel (over desktop window), the window I was
working on loses keyboard focus, when I get back I need to either select
the window with mouse or Alt+Tab to it.

If possible, and if it's not too much trouble, I'd like to see 1) a
configuration option for this or 2) it disabled in "None" and/or
"minimized apps" desktop icons, as (to me) it doesn't make too much
sense in either mode. Ultimately, this just a one of those issues that
probably bug only few users, so it might not be worth it. But I'd
appreciate (as if it'd be worth jack shit) if you'd take this into
consideration.

Thanks,
-Pasi
