Don't do it because of me and do anything you don't want to.
But I know that some people can't upgrade for whatever reasons. And I
think with such a little change as Jean-François has posted, it is
reasonable to include an #if-#else clause to solve the problem.

As I mentioned already before(via PM) I also like GTK 2.8 and I use it
also on my laptop. But why don't be compatbible to previous versions if
it is so easy?
