heh, trying to build them is one of the things i like though. there has
been the rare occasion that i figured one of these things out on my own.
it is good enough of a feeling that i will take a little time to try
this with some of the more persnickety software i use.

and, i have the time. i just need to be better at stopping the trying
when my frustration turns evil. and it does.

my problem was with the panel. i have a recent thunar installed. it
was the panel that caused me trouble. another thing that can cause me
trouble is long thank yous that contain the wrong information :)

if the desktop hadn't worked, i might have. as it was, the kernel
worked and the desktop started. the time and grief spent with the
introspection on my own life while i watched the compiler spew should
not be time wasted, you think?

this "you don't have a life" email was interesting to get while building
things here. also, if you are younger, i suggest you try to do a few
good things before you get much past the age of 35. i don't think that
trying to build software is the only thing that triggers such
introspection. more than just software is frustrating.

i (used to) have a lot of stuff in my life. i am a girl who likes
stuff. pretty stuff, useful stuff and stuff that works.

the computer is a tool. it is nice for it to work and not spend all of
its energy looking good to do this. my dad used to smack us for not
cleaning his tools when we were done using them. it was not
unreasonable nor damaging to us as children.

this lovely desktop seems to work without a lot of wasting of the
computer to do so. the tools seem clean and nothing about the desktop
is interfering with the work i try to do. at least, i don't think it
is.

not having a job is probably what interfers with my work more than
anything. i spent the weekend figuring out that everything i have done
has been done by others in a better way than i could have.

this is the only sad thing about my computer and chain of software
working so well. i am unneeded! even the discussion about the default
install from a few weeks ago, everyone uses different things than i do
and no one has problems like i do. like not wanting to make .doc files
and wanting to use a text editor for things. i am not even good for
determining a good default -- i spent too much of my life trying to be
different.

well, another long thanks and sorry, i don't even need the help since i
can wait until the stuff has passed beta.

my one weird bug thing was more fun than a bug. how do you complain
when your desktop is cute about not letting a widget drop where there is
no container? is this really a problem?

too long to say no problems here and thanks,
sorry about that
