exo-open: URIs beginning with "www." not opened in the browser

Firefox 1.5.0.1, which also behaves odd if I don't have any windows
opened:

jannis at nebelsee:~$ exo-open --launch WebBrowser www.xfce.org
jannis at nebelsee:~$ Error: No running window found
