Also, Terminal appears somewhat-broken too.  It doesn't remember its
settings anymore, and prints this out about 15 times when it starts:

(Terminal:29309): Gdk-WARNING **: gdk_property_get(): length value has
wrapped in calculation (did you pass G_MAXLONG?)
