gtk+/autogen.sh freed from crap

i started at the source of the problem:
http://carol.gimp.org/files/gtk-autogen.sh

if you are building gtk+ from cvs, this will give you the choice.  my
next problem is glib.  very weird that this is proving more difficult to
hack to work right than the giant widget source was....

if you use this, please rename it to autogen.sh when it gets to its home
in the gtk+ tree.

also, this autogen.sh did not mind the symlink to automake-1.4 and i do
not even know which one it needs.

too bad about my ego deflation project!
