Yes, I've tested to and it's definitely better. Perhaps having the panel options above the plugin ones (and the new panel one at the top) could be even better. 
Also, I'got another idea. Perhaps would it be usefull to give a name to each instance of the panel, so that the user can do the distinction between them. Just a thought.
