xffm and xfprint question about .a and .la files

Greetings. 

I am working on packaging the xfce packages for fedora extras. 

A question has come up about the .a and .la files in the xffm and
xfprint packages. Should those files be included in any package made? 
Does anyone use them/Should anyone use them?

If they are not needed, perhaps we could remove them as part of the
build process?

Neither xffm or xfprint need those files 
(they load the .so module files). 

I hate to drop them out of the package if someone is using them, but
would love to get rid of them if they are unused. 

Any thoughts?
