AFAIK, XFce4-4.2 is not included in the Ubuntu repositories but the
packages supplied by os-cillation for debian testing work great. I am
using them, and have been since they were available, with not problems.
You just need to add a line or two to your sources.list and follow the
directions here: http://www.os-works.com/view/debian/
list of pkgs: http://www.os-works.com/view/debian/packages/
You have the option to install XFce4-4.2 or Xfld (which includes rox
desktop, leafpad/mousepad, Terminal, xfmedia, claw4, xnetcardconfig and
xsu). FWIW, I installed the latter.
