I think we need to rearrange everything a little and the goal for future
releases is to make what we have now even better working/designed.
Jasper already started to integrate the panel, taskbar and iconbox into
something new that still provides the same features.
The core should be lightwight and should be the bare minimum of software
that xfce4 provides today.
Furthermore a nice set of little user applications.
This is a list of stuff that I consider as core and utils:
core:
- libs, mcs
- xfwm
- xfdesktop
- panel, taskbar, iconbox
utils:
- some simple file manager
- simple terminal
- xfprint
- mousepad
- xftask
- xfcalendar
xfce4-libs
xfce4-core
xfce4-utils (not needed for the desktop itself, but nice to have)
remove toys and additional panel plugins -> goodies projects
just my 0.02 EUR :)
