then feel free to congratulate yourself in that you're not afraid to
hyphenate ^_~.

yeah, i tend to use (space)(dash)(space) as an emdash, mainly for
aesthetic reasons.  hyphenated words are spaceless.  i don't care if
it's strictly "correct": that's just my style.
