Nice article..
Like with filemanagers, I often use the "ROX like" layout but with a single
column list or detail view.
If the smallest icon size were to be 16x16 and the largest icon size 48x48
in such a view.
Why not auto scale the icons to fit the window size?
This way when there are only 4 files to view you'll get 48x48 icons and when
there's alot more to see the iconsize would be 16x16.
I can imagin this would be great for users with a tablet pc or any other
touchscreen device.
Thunar?

Sebastiaan

Another suggestion for XFCE usibility.
I've noticed that the main menu on the panel isn't by default at the
extreme corner of the screen.
The main menu should be at the absolute corner of the screen. That
makes it extremely easy to hit. This is in accordance with Fitt's Law.
Also, if there's other really common things we think the user will hit
a lot, perhaps we should consider putting them in the other extreme
corners.
There's a really good article here:

Obviously the user should be able to move stuff around, but a default
setup like that could make more sense.
Sincerely,
Joe Crawford
