Not sure, if this is a good idea. I'd assume that given that I have 
absolute control over what's and where's going to be looked up by 
setting the XDG variables. If we automatically add to the variables, its 
no longer absolute control and users might be confused, because they 
wouldn't expect that we `extend' the spec.
