xfdesktop (4.2 beta) aborts/crashes on startup

Hi,

I have installed the XFCE 4.2 beta on my Mandrake linux (9.2) machine.

Everything is fine except xfdesktop. It crashes on startup. The error
message as follows:

$ xfdesktop
