Hinting settings and Firefox

Okay, I have done some more research.

Firefox responds to the following settings from xrdb -query:
Xft.antialias:  1
Xft.hinting:    0
Xft.hintstyle:  hintnone
Xft.rgba:       rgb

These settings do not get set when XFCE 4 is started, but only after a
change has been made in the UI Settings dialog.

How do I make sure these settings get set on starting XFCE?
