RC1 compile/link error

well, i'm not uninstalling 4.0.6 in order to test 4.1.99.1 ,
but i can change the library path to look in  /usr/local/lib  first,
if you can remind me of the line to put in  .bashrc .
with  $PATH  it's simply a matter of (un)commenting a pair of lines,
but there's another envar, something like  $LDLIBPATH .
