i dunno, i kinda like it how it is.  i think of it as a context-type 
menu, since it's the desktop menu, which appears at the point at which 
you click.  perhaps that's not strictly correct since it's a button-menu 
now.  i dunno, what do other people think (and anyone else wanna write a 
patch for it? ^_~).
