/me agrees wholeheartedly
yes, it's 'nice' to have them in there for users, but i think most (if 
not all) the people that would use cvs would have the proper autotools 
installed, and if not, tough.  i think we should be making some 4.1 dev 
releases anyway, which would make this point less important.  having all 
the extra files in there is just annoying (to me, anyway).
