xfcalendar problem with gtk 2.4

I don't know if it is a gtk 2.4 thing. I had to manually edit 
.xfce4/xfcalendar/xfcalendarrc
and change show to hide to get it to not pop up when starting xfce.

I also had to add xfce4-iconbox to the xinitrc or where ever it was 
that wound up starting the panel and xfwm and all the rest of it.
