hi all- ok, so the initial response was overwhelmingly positive, so i've merged and committed the new xfdesktop. the diff file was a whopping 6900 lines long! everything should be in order, i just built from a 'make distclean' and it works ok for me. let me know if anybody notices anything weird. -brian
