i suppose the real answer to this is another question - how long do you 
want it to be before we feature-freeze for 4.2? ^_~
but going under the assumption of the answer being "not really that 
soon", then yes, we'll have desktop icons.  there, you have it - i've 
said it officially, and you can beat me up later if i don't deliver ^_~.
