xffm errors

Edscott,

I see several changes in the code for xffm every day. Do all these
changes are real major bugs?

Any change potentially introduce problems (like the one I just fixed, a
variable declaration after the code doesn't compile on gcc 2.x) - We
shall NOT stay in RC mode forever, and we do need some process.

I really mean that code is frozen and only serious bugs should be fixed.
I don't care about adding shortcuts, cleaning up code, etc. I care about
keeping the code under control.

PS: Oh, yeah, yet another problem arised while I was typing this
message. The compile just stop.

Cheers,
