As a package creator I'd like to get some kind of early warning about
the forth-coming release so I can be ready with the packages on the
official release day.

Otherwise I read the official announcement like rest of the users and
start working on the packages (while people are already waiting for the
packages to show up). Depending on my free time, work queue etc. this
might take some time so I really would like to start creating the
packages as early as possible. I'd like start the package process most
likely during BETA1 and update the packages for each BETA/RC until the
final release is made. On the release day I'd commit the packages to
the (NetBSD pkgsrc) repository

So, I'd really like to see yet another low-traffic list for the package
creators. After all, you are not forced to subscribe to it :-)
