Just a small note here. ROX-Filer's panel is now adjustable by a setting in the options window. This has been available for the last few releases. Before this, one could use smaller icons to get the same effect. I used the latter method on my laptop for a long time but the newer addition allows scaling things to different sizes. FWIW, this even sizes the pager applet.
