I personally don't use the taskbar myself.  I use the panel.  So my 
vote is for option 3 here.

As for this.. As long as its nice looking.. :)

As for this I made a patch for myself that already set the middle 
button for tasklist and the right button for the menu.   :)

Anyways, that's my vote.
