right, this looks very much like a font problem, but I never heard of a
program crashing because of that. Very strange really. Especially if you
don't see it with other apps.
All I can think of is to try and use a different font for gtk and see if
that helps. You can set the font from the setting manager -> User
interface.
It is really very strange,
