xfce4mixer broken. rc1 delayed

The one and only reason for the many gtk-2.0 compatibility hacks is:
Many current linux distros are quite out-of-date (e.g. mandrake 9.0
still has gtk-2.0, redhat 9.0 and suse aswell IIRC). These hacks
_will_ be removed soon, but atleast 4.0 should work with gtk 2.0 for
the above reason.
