Makefile.in for wffm in xfce4...

I decided to take a day and give XFce4 a go. So far everything has
been great. Somewhat time intensive, but working. Right now I have everything compiled and installed except WFFM. I get the following configure error:

config.status: error: cannot find input file: plugin-mcs/Makefile.in

Indeed, this file does not exist. Should it? I realize I know just enough to be dangerous, so I thought I would ask for help. What do I need to do to get wffm to configure and compile? I tried ./autogen.sh, but it complained about my version. ( < 2.52) I didn't want to try to update that assuming it would lead to a long list of dependencies. Any suggestions would be nice.

Thank you,

Philip Dean
