Unexpected Exit of xfdesktop

Hi,

xfdesktop has stopped functioning for me. As far as I can make out,
gtk_main() is exiting immediately. client_event_filter() is called once
and then the program exits normally as if gtk_main_quit() has been
called.

This is the behavor as of today.

Any ideas?
