Build error on Alpha

Hi all,

yesterday I successfully build all modules on my Celeron notebook. Today I tried
to build on my alpha pws 500a at university.
When trying to build libxfcegui4 i get:

la-dialogs.TPlo  -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/libxfcegui4_la-dialogs.o
dialogs.c: In function `xfce_verr':
dialogs.c:206: invalid operands to binary !=
dialogs.c: In function `xfce_vwarn':
dialogs.c:228: invalid operands to binary !=
dialogs.c: In function `xfce_vinfo':
dialogs.c:250: invalid operands to binary !=
make[2]: *** [libxfcegui4_la-dialogs.lo] Fehler 1


gcc is 2.95.4, the machine is running Debian Woody/stable.

Any suggestions??
