I've been using Thunar intensely for years. So I'm aware of its recent bug infestation. It's no reason to jump ship though. It's not fatal. It just keeps bombing out. I got used to it being a bit temperamental lately.

Seems sensible to me that Thunar should have an "Undo" and a "Clipboard" to support its cut-and-paste file operation. Very remiss of the developers to implement the cut-and-paste without a failsafe. The loss of a file when doing a cut-paste file operation is pretty rough.

On 19 January 2016 at 21:18, Heinz Diehl <htd+ml@fritha.org> wrote:

On 19.01.2016, Mark Ballard wrote:
If you don't have a working backup, your file is lost. Take a look
here:

https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12264

And there are a lot more out there.

The bug has been present for some months now, and there is no real
solution. I would *strongly* suggest to use something else than
Thunar. The bug is ugly as hell, and it doesn't look like it will be
fixed in the near future.
