For various reasons I need the session manager running. I tried to
remove evolution from it so I can use an autostart script (no idea how
to do it: I set "Restart Style" to "Never") but at the next login it
turns back to "If running".

I tried disabling "Automatically save session at logout" and "Launch
GNOME settings at startup" but it did not change a bit. This also
highlights the fact I do not really grasp what and how xfce4-session
is supposed to work.

Ciao.
