Don't store sessions in XDG_CACHE_HOME

Hi all,

by default xfce4 sessions get stored in $XDG_CACHE_HOME/sessions which
normally is ~/.cache

For various reasons we have changed the cache path to a different
directory outside of ~ but would like 'sessions' to be kept in ~

Is there a way to alter the path and store the 'sessions' directory
somewhere outside of $XDG_CACHE_HOME?
