locate X mouse pointer?

In Xfce 4.12 there is still no function to show the position of the X
mouse pointer, like in other desktop environments.

I have several full screen applications where it is hard to find the mouse
pointer, especially on a notebook in the sun :-}

So far, my workaround is to bind

xmessage -nearmouse -timeout 3 -buttons '' X

to a key.

Any better ideas?
