application menu has gone?!

On Xfce 4.12 (Ubuntu 16.04) I tried to add a menu entry with "Menu Editor"
(About says: MenuLibre), but it did not work and my application menu
(right mouse click) has gone!

When I try to start it via shell, nothing happens:

framstag at wupp:~: xfce4-popup-applicationsmenu -p
framstag at wupp:~: echo $?
0

Where is my application menu? How can I restore it?
