Can't find settings for xfce4-mixer in xfce4-settings-editor

The problem was that I had started xfce4-settings-editor from the
command-line and with sudo.  When I started it from the apps menu as a
non-root user, the GUI showed a lot more options, including xfce4-mixer.

Case closed.
