Hi,
I wonder where this thread started? I suspect it started with another
subject and the thread gets broken. I also didn't receive or can find
Chris' non-English mail in the archive, so I suspect it was a PM.
As a hint how to make mailing lists more pleasant, consider not to
ignore https://mail.xfce.org/pipermail/xfce/2014-November/033889.html .
Anyway, IIUC a user experiences issues when using Thunar. Is this
correct? If so, I recommend to test other file managers. Rodent (the
desktop of Rodent can be closed), Xfe, Caja (Caja has got
impact to my openbox desktop), Nemo, etc., some file managers might
interact with Xfce4 in an unwanted way, others for sure won't cause
issues.

Some are based on Qt. Others don't need a virtual file system to mount
devices. They all have pros and cons.
