No unseen notifications icon and history

Wasn't it the old gnome notification daemon at
https://git.gnome.org/browse/notification-daemon/ ?

Don't know if the new 3.x version behaves the same. But I think version
0.76 had this icon in the systray. But I may also the wrong :/
