Xfce is very slow, part 2

It had something like 130 MiB in swap and only 1GiB memory installed.
My machine has 0 with an uptime of 8 days, but I have 8GiB memory
here. On my desktop at home I have 4 GiB installed. When I installed
Ubuntu on my new SSD, I forgot to create a swap partition so I don't
have one.
