Xfce is very, very, very slow

Xubuntu does not ship any KDE programs, and ships a few GNOME ones :
http://packages.ubuntu.com/fr/precise/xubuntu-desktop

None will slow down your system, unless your computer has not enough 
system memory for the programs you are using ATM.
