Xfce is very slow, part 2 [solved ?]

Hi,
for me the problem has to do with swapping.
cat  /proc/sys/vm/swappiness
60
That means swapping starts about 60% use of RAM. This alone is not the 
problem but swapping continues after going back under tnat limit. 
Sometimes a had 380 MB RAM and 232 MB swap.
Now I have got 2 GB RAM, and there is no swapping anymore.
Is that a solution?
