Themes: Gtk 3 vs Gtk 2

Hello all,

On Debian Jessie (xfce 4.10) I can't seem to get Gtk 3 _and_ Gtk 2 
applications to both look nice... selecting themes in the "Style" tab of 
the Appearance settings menu I manage to select both (I think) types of 
themes such as the xfce-* ones or Clearlooks-Phenix which I tried 
installing, but it's either one or the other.

Any hint appreciated.
