trouble compiling plugins on Xubuntu Precise

The trouble is that I'm not getting additional information (when using
the GIT snapshot):

root at liv-laptop:/home/liv/Build/xfce4-clipman-plugin-1.2.3# sh -x autogen.sh

Something else that I could try?

PS In the end I used the release archive [1] to package Clipman for
Ubuntu Precise [2].
