Nice improvements, excellent work! I like the new shortcut pane, it
looks much better organized. Thunar also seems to be snappier now and
doesn't exhibit weird thumbnail update bugs. And I like the spinner
animation and the new multiple file properties!

Now I don't have much time going into details about the great new stuff,
but I did some tests for some features and here are some bugs and
inconveniences I noticed:

* Thunar does not remember custom commands I entered in the
"Open With" dialog, even if I set it as default. A file is
created in ~/.local/share/applications with a name like
   userapp-appname-MRTRLW.desktop every time I enter a custom
file. This is a very inconvenient regression.

* Additionally, it would be fine if the "Use as default" option would
be disabled by default. The cases I want to set the application as
default are much rarer than those where I simply want to open it with
   another application one time.

* Thunar is listed four times as "File manager" and once
as "File manager Thunar" in the "Open With" dialog.

* The "Open With" dialog is very small and cannot be resized, and
there are usually a lot of applications to scroll through.
It would be nice to have it at least resizable, if it's not possible
to make it bigger by default.

* Network bookmarks in the sidepane are not very comfortable to use:
   1) Connect to a remote server via sftp:
      sftp://user@server/some/dir
A bookmark will appear below "NETWORK", along with an eject button.
   2) Add a bookmark for the remote dir.
The bookmark will appear below "NETWORK".
   3) Disconnect the resource using the bookmark with the eject button
      created in step 1).
   4) Click on the bookmark created in step 2).
You will be asked for a password which you can confirm, but then
nothing happens. You have to click on the bookmark again to show
the resource. This last step should not be necessary.

* Another bug concerning remote resources:
   1) Connect to a remote server via sftp:
      sftp://user@server/some/dir
A bookmark will appear below "NETWORK", along with an eject button.
   2) Copy the sftp path from the location bar to the clipboard.
   3) Disconnect the resource using the eject button.
   4) Paste the bookmark into the location bar and hit enter.
What worked before does not work anymore: There will be no
reaction, and the connection will not be re-established. You have
to close and reopen the thunar window to get it working again.

* It would be great if "NETWORK" could be hidden too. Not all people
   need it.

* When connecting to SFTP servers via gvfs, some files with special
characters in their names are presented with "(invalid encoding)",
and trying to access them sometimes crashes thunar when in --demon
mode. While I believe this may be a problem with gvfs, it
shouldn't crash thunar. I've filed bug
   https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9376
for this with a backtrace included.

* SFTP transfers with gvfs are slow as hell. If I use a sftp client
like filezilla, it will copy files 4x faster than gvfs. This is
a problem with gvfs, there have been bug reports regarding this
for nautilus etc. Not a thunar problem I suppose, but I wanted
   to mention it.

* Thunar crashed sometimes when deleting files. I'm not sure this
is not caused by some of my custom patches, so I have to test it
again using the vanilla version. Unfortunately, it seems not to
be reproducible reliably, but I'll try to get a backtrace for
this too if it's present in vanilla. Backtraces I send are
for vanilla of course, if not stated otherwise.

* Another bug, which I cannot reproduce reliably:
Sometimes when trying to disconnect a sftp resource, the
   following error message will occur:
   DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: Method
"QueryInfo" with signature "aysus" on interface "org.gtk.vfs.Mount"
doesn't exist.

Best regards,
Harald
