Focus problem with java applications?

I have a problem with java applications that is quite annoying... Not sure if the sinner is XFCE but thought I would start here..

If the java app opens a new windows/dialog then often it is impossible to switch focus to the new window/dialog and the only option that is working is closing the window using the
x in the right corner... (i.e. if I try to write in the new window, it write in the window that previously had focus..:)

Is there some settings in XFCE that is wrong? Or is it a bug? Or should I blame something else?
