thank you, very detailed! the problem is that "autostart" clashes with "save session" function sometimes; so i choose not to use the latter. ------------------ Original ------------------ From: "gymka"; Date: Mon, May 7, 2012 12:59 PM To: "Xfce general discussion list"; Cc: "picospuch"; Subject: Re: Wonder what's the meaning of xfce4-session-settings-> session->restart style, anyone knows it? -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 2012.05.07 07:02, picospuch rašė: > I can't figure out what's the meaning of xfce4-session-settings-> > session-> restart style exactly.does "Immediately" differ with > "Always"? > > The RestartIfRunning style is used in the usual case. The client should be restarted in the next session if it is connected to the session manager at the end of the current session. The RestartAnyway style is used to tell the SM that the application should be restarted in the next session even if it exits before the current session is terminated. It should be noted that this is only a hint and the SM will follow the policies speciŒed by its users in determining what applications to restart. The RestartImmediately style is like RestartAnyway, but in addition, the client is meant to run continuously. If the client exits, the SM should try to restart it in the current session. The RestartNever style speciŒes that the client does not wish to be restarted in the next session. P.S. in X session protocol it's „RestartAnyway“ in xfce it's „RestartAlways“ - -- gymka GPG ID: 21C70548 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.19 (GNU/Linux) iQEcBAEBAgAGBQJPp1aVAAoJEAVeyH4hxwVIU/cH/0UHWAJ0AKJO4GaAONWyvmmV PvMgz2zty2caXK8uHi6siKc/BSqf9sUMWnS6spkyaGvAPWe91h+uB3qFAZAMQYjo 5/0i8UAbJpsdpuGHMZ6f2JjCot7kEp6V4cNjgJUcBjqYgeIRNuvVZmrFi1lsfUiQ Lrq+Sp6QnQQEJV0SgCvqf8Nl6jOUa1LLR71ccresjskATnAAldo7AywLvXROvhAE ODnXhTudIiJWDg23PFO0Ck6WnDiGT8LF6vxp1YAMHWxcxNDiPCfTa6VF81A3Tp7k +9LxcCWYOzuHm2EPlw2zhwF2tvajDGsNZByllFA8b6trHvqFJsCAZAOb5gpq1Lc= =AiQr -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
