Hi Ahau,
No not an icon problem (using Tango). Automount also doesn't work.
I may have installed gvfs after building Thunar and thunar-volman so I
rebuilt and reinstalled them but no improvement. I also went over the
build order list on Robby Workman's site and had all but a few
installed. I installed those from sbopkg except gnome-disk-utility which
isn't available there. If you have a txz for that it would help.
